The highlights of the tour include a photo shoot at the Memorial Arch at the entrance to the Great Ocean Road, lunch in the town of Apollo Bay, and a stop in the quaint town of Kennett River to see the koalas and native birds. Then a visit to Cape Otway and Port Campbell National Parks and nature walks in the rainforest amongst giant eucalyptus trees and wild animals. Finally, we head to the limestone coast to see the 12 Apostles. We stroll down the sandy beach of Loch Ard Gorge and learn about the shipwreck. We end the day at the London Bridge.

The Great Ocean Road Tour departs from Melbourne at around 7 in the morning heading toward the picturesque coastal town of Anglesea for a morning tea stop. Don’t worry about the tea and biscuit, they’re all provided. All you have to do is enjoy the beauty of the town over a cup of hot tea or coffee.

Then we pass by the Split Point Lighthouse on our way to the Memorial Arch, the gateway to the Great Ocean Road. Pose for some photos under the Memorial Arch erected in 1937. The Great Ocean Road, a 300-kilometer stretch highway from Torquay to Warrnambool along Victoria’s coastline, is a war memorial honoring the sacrifices of the servicemen who fought during the World War One.

Enjoy the fun as we wind our way along Australia’s famous coastal road. This is the heart of our Great Ocean Road Tour. Bask in the amazing coastal views of pristine beaches, towering cliffs, and lush vegetation. Be always on the lookout for wild animals. You may see playful kangaroos and lazy koalas.

The next stop is the beautiful resort town of Lorne where you can watch the surfers enjoy the surf. Take your cameras out and have some photo shoots capturing the natural beauty of Lorne. A seaside town, Lorne is a popular stop for many Great Ocean Road tour travelers.

From Lorne, we travel to Cumberland River Gorge. Enjoy the great natural views of ancient rocks and pristine water teeming with wildlife. Surrounded by tree-ferns and blue gums, the Cumberland River Gorge also hosts plant and animal life.

We will have nature walks in the coastal town of Kennett River where you can count your koalas munching eucalyptus leaves. Feel nature’s pleasant breeze while always on the lookout for wild animals and the friendly, colorful birds such as parrots, kookaburras, and lorikeets. Photographing birds has always been a photographer’s delight.

Then we drive towards Cape Patton, the highest elevation of the Great Ocean Road, just around 5 kilometers on Kennett River’s Apollo Bay side. Enjoy the great stunning panoramic ocean views at the lookout.

At the quaint seaside town of Apollo Bay, we will have a stop for lunch at a seaside cafe opposite the ocean. Enjoy your meal over the great ambiance of this picturesque coastal town.

Right after lunch, we will journey across the Otway. Walk through the rainforest that was a showcase of the ancient world called Gondwana. Be dwarfed by the towering ancient trees in the temperate Otway’s Rainforest. Feel nature’s embrace. Then we travel through the Ayre River wetlands below the Otway Ranges towards the 12 Apostles, the final destination of this Great Ocean Road Tour.

Upon reaching the limestone coast we walk down Gibson’s Steps leading to the beach. Marvel at the towering limestone stacks of Gog as you hear the roaring surf below. Reflect on your place in nature as you view the amazing coastal vistas of southern Australia. We then climb to the 12 Apostles Lookout. The view of the rock formations is simply mind-blowing. Be mystified by the beauty of the limestone stacks formed by nature for millions of years.

The next stop would be at the Loch Ard Gorge where you learn about the area’s maritime history and the famous shipwreck that happened on Australian shore. Listen to tragic tales and stories of bravery. Surrounded by limestone cliffs and pristine waters, feel the sand between your toes as you take a walk along the beach, or you can dip in the water for a swim.

Spending the rest of the time at the London Bridge is a perfect way to end this Great Ocean Road Tour. Be amazed at this eye-catching limestone formation that is proof of the evolution of this coastal marvel. Depending on the season, you can catch the sunset and capture that best moment as we end the day before heading back to Melbourne.
